Is the file detected as the correct type? On your screen shot, the "Type" and "Contents" fields in the properties dialog are obscured. It might be the added number to the file extension that prevents correct type detection. Yes, it is detected as the correct type. It opens with the correct program. I also can reproduce the same bug with other file type patterns (like *.kdb) @David: isn't this the bug you fixed a couple of days ago? Yes.
