I tried to findout which packages and versions. I downgraded libxine1, due to this other packages were removed/downgraded as well (created a list of all installed packages) and rebooted the system. This "solved" the problem. I then upgraded libxine1 again and added libxin1-codecs (removed during downgrade) also some packages were adde/upgraded due to this (also created a list of all installed packages. Rebooted the system .. and the problem was there again. The differences (sdiff) in packages is: libxine1-1.1.18.1-1.37.x86_64 | libxine1-1.1.19-2.pm.48.16.x86_64 libxine1-gnome-vfs-1.1.18.1-1.37.x86_64 | libxine1-codecs-1.1.19-2.pm.48.16.x86_64 libxine1-pulse-1.1.18.1-1.37.x86_64 | libxine1-gnome-vfs-1.1.19-2.pm.48.16.x86_64 > libxine1-pulse-1.1.19-2.pm.48.16.x86_64 This bug is very annoying since I cannot shutdown/restart the system from within the gui. I have to go to a super-user terminal and issue halt/reboot. I also don have mp3 support. I am willing to test possible solutions. TIA, Arjan ten Hoopen Could you please install debugging symbols for Phonon and its backends? Your backtrace is not really helpful without. Myriam, I can only find phonon-dev, is that good enough or do you need more? You should check for a file called -debuginfo. Please see also here: http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Bugreport_application_crashed#Install_-debuginfo_Packages This link can be found by following the instructions I gave you in my first reply :) Created attachment 57793 [details]

*** Bug 268869 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** Are you using the NVIDIA binary drivers? If yes, could you check if going back to 190.x version fixes the crash? I don't use NVIDIA, I have intel. Since I upgraded to 11.4 because the bug became extremely annoying, I can't double check .. sorry Arjan We are sorry, but the xine backend is unmaintained: http://lists.kde.org/?l=kde-announce&m=130744384419151 Please use the phonon-backend-gstreamer or thre phonon-backend-vlc instead. |
