Sentry Crash Report:

Description nous 2011-02-21 18:36:01 UTC
Version: 1.13.5 (using KDE 4.6.0)
OS: Linux

Several akonadi_pop3_resource instances keep running even after kmail is closed and keep fetching emails to someplace other than inbox. When kmail is subsequently started, "No new messages" is displayed after mail check and all unread emails in my gmail account are marked as fetched. This started happening roughly in the last two months. I disabled interval mail checking, but emails keep getting lost. I'm using kwallet for password storage.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Fire up kmail; quit kmail; wait for a message to arrive at gmail account; watch it disappear after a while.

Actual Results:
Email is lost and unrecoverable.

I'll test with kmail 2 and report back.

I installed kmail2 and it shows my mail folders on the left pane twice. There are 2 groups named "Local Folders". The subfolders seem to interact, i.e. when I delete a message from first group's inbox, it also gets deleted from the other. Sometimes, randomly, messages seem to move back and forth from their respective subfolders between the 2 groups. I renamed the akonadi data folders (and pkilled all instances thereof) and tried again; same results. I renamed ~/.kde4 and started anew: kmail starts and the folder pane is totally empty...

I'm sorry, I can't affort to waste more time and lose more emails; I'm abandoning kmail.
