Description Ivan D Vasin 2011-02-18 22:39:06 UTC
Version: 1.13.5 (using KDE 4.6.0)
OS: Linux

when deleting messages, unless you hold Shift when pressing Delete, KMail moves the selected messages to the Trash folder. this entails downloading each message if the Trash folder is, for example, a local folder (as in the default configuration).

the issue here is that after a delete action is canceled, the previously to-be-deleted messages continue to be downloaded. this is unweildy if there are many messages. it is annoying if the reason that i canceled the action is to avoid this download process.

Reproducible: Didn't try

Steps to Reproduce:
1. open a large IMAP folder.
2. select all messages.
3. press Delete.
4. wait a while for KMail to start deleting messages.
5. before the delete action is finished, cancel it via the progress panel.

Actual Results:
1. the delete action stops.
2. the previously to-be-deleteid messages continue to be downloaded.

Expected Results:
1. the delete action stops.
2. the previously to-be-deleteid messages stop being downloaded.

OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.35-27-generic
Compiler: cc

Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report.

KMail2 was released in 2011, and the entire code base went through significant changes. We are currently in the process of porting to Qt5 and KF5. It is unlikely that these bugs are still valid in KMail2.

We welcome you to try out KMail 2 with the KDE 4.14 release and give your feedback.
