Description Irek 2011-02-15 15:08:52 UTC
Version: 1.13.5 (using KDE 4.4.5)
OS: Linux

I use blackbox with virtual screen twice bigger than physical screen. I want it is smaller than virtual screen. On start kmail open in the middle of the virtual screen. It keep resizing, but no positioning. Option -geometry doesn't work at all. After manual correction of geometry it is no stable. Changes of workarea, popups, and sometimes change of window move it to initial position in the middle. Resizing is very strange, unpredictable. Better don't touch. I have tried also openbox, and fluxbox. The same. Older version (debian lenny) was better, because was only problem with initial position. After repositioning was stable. I have tried to dig in rc files, but without effect. Shoudn't there be some more parameters for mainwindow like XPos, YPos.
with regards

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Open in blackbox with command kmail
move to the top of the screen
go to another workarea
go to the kmail
Try to resize it

Actual Results:

after resizing jumps

Expected Results:
doesn't move

Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report.

KMail2 was released in 2011, and the entire code base went through significant changes. We are currently in the process of porting to Qt5 and KF5. It is unlikely that these bugs are still valid in KMail2.

We welcome you to try out KMail 2 with the KDE 4.14 release and give your feedback.
