I am running openSuSE 11.3 with the KDE 4.6 packages from:

The crash can be reproduced every time.

This could indicate that it is an openSUSE package problem: http://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=88429

Will resolve it for now. I will reopen if it turns out not to be a downstream problem.
