Version: 0.40 (KDE 3.x) (using KDE 1.2)
OS: MS Windows

Kleopatra hangs when trying to encrypt any file or decrypt any .gpg file type. I have exact program installed on my older MS Windows XP, and it works flawlessly. Both were downloaded from official GPG website.

Reproducible: Didn't try

Steps to Reproduce:
I launch Kleopatra, it performs self check ok. I then select file, then either "decrypt/verify files" or "sign/encrypt files". New window opens as it should called "Select one or more files to decrypt and/or Verify". I then select one file, right click, select decrypt, and instant hang.

Actual Results:
"Select one or more files to decrypt and/or Verify" window hangs forever. Task manager shows Kleopatra as (not responding). CPU usage varies between 0% to 1% while Kleopatra is hung.

Expected Results:
My new Windows 7 with Intel core I3 technology, hangs repeatedly. I can't even X out the "Select one or more files to decrypt and/or Verify" window.

OS: Microsoft Windows (unknown) release 5.1 (XP)
Compiler: i586-mingw32msvc-gcc

After further analysis, the problem only occurs if you use GPGEX. Kleopatra hangs everytime if you use any GPGEX commands.

I am having this exact same issue. It appears anytime it uses a GPGEX command it freezes on windows 7 64.

I'm experiencing the same problem, also on Windows 7 64 Bit. Windows event log says:

I have been experiencing the not responding problems in many aspects of the app and not just encrypting/decrypting.

As an attempt to get the program working, I set the Compatibility mode to Windows XP SP3 and it has been running tremendously better. I have not experienced any 'not responding' yet (for about 6 hours).

Doesn't help here (Win 7 64 Bit) - _without_ Windows XP SP3 compatibility mode, I can at least get into Kleopatra's main window and do the configuration, Kleopatra just stops responding when I try to encrypt/decrypt.

_With_ Win XP SP3 compatibility mode enabled, Kleopatra will invariably stop responding already during startup, just when the splash screen indicates that the intermediate certificate store has been loaded ("Laden des Zertifikatszwischenspeichers abgeschlossen").

We updated Kleopatra (to KDE 10.4.3) and Qt in Gpg4win 2.1.1-dev for better Win7/8 support. It should fixed your problems. If not, please reopen or create a new bug report. Thanks.
