Hi Tobias, any news on this issue? Hi Alex, could you explain exactly how you save these contacts, click by click? ...I will prepare a stap-by-step for you... Created attachment 69147 [details]
Detailed error description
I can confirm this bug on 4.8.0. Every time I create a list, seemingly all contacts included in the list are duplicated reliably. This is a "happens all the time" bug. It doesn't matter if the list is created manually in KAddressbook or by saving a set of addressees as a new list in Kmail (as in the step by step). It is extremely annoying for somebody who would like to keep a tidy address book, so I'm sure you can imagine I'd be very happy for a fix. I have three instances of many important contacts just because they are on two email lists. I basically cannot maintain an email list if I am unwilling to live with duplicate contacts at the same, because every time I delete them, I will mess up my email lists as old contacts are undistinguishable from the new. Looks like this is still a problem in KDE: 4.10.00 "release 546" Seems like it can safely be set to "Confirmed" now? *** Bug 304671 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** Seems to work now (4.13, Kubuntu 14.04). What do you say? If it works, please close the report as fixed. This bug has only been reported for versions before 4.14, which have been unsupported for at least two years now. Can anyone tell if this bug still present? If noone confirms this bug for a Framework-based version of kaddressbook (version 5.0 or later, as part of KDE Applications 15.08 or later), it gets closed in about three months. I checked KMail 5.3.2 and could not see the problem anymore. As I assume that no maintenance is done for 4.14.x version I set this to resolved |
