I use Kopete for my daily work and have hundreds of Jabber users and many history logs of them. If I want to search especially terms over all users it takes several minutes just to parse and read them in. This is very impractical.

I'm not sure how to solve this situation - optimizing code, caching, more particular filtering, limits - but I'd appreciate a more practical view for that use case. Of course I don't want to fill a difficult serach form in most use cases. Do you have any idea what can be done here?

Reproducible: Always

Actual Results:
Importing the history of all users takes about 2 minutes

Expected Results:
Importing the history in a few seconds :-)

OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.37-9-desktop
Compiler: gcc

Dear user, unfortunately Kopete is no longer maintained.

Please migrate to another solution, e.g. for Jabber a possibility is Kaidan, for Matrix a candidate is NeoChat.
