Description Axel Braun 2011-02-02 21:44:33 UTC
Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.6.0)
OS: Linux

I have set up a new system, new user, and immediately upgraded to KDE 4.6.0 (kaddressbook 4.4.10).
I imported the ~/.local/share/contacts tree from an existing user, ad added this as a new addressbook to kaddressbook.
Result: The folder structure is imported correctly, but no contact is shown. If I right-click on one folder, it shows me the correct number of entries (contacts).

How can I get my contacts back?

Reproducible: Didn't try

OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.34.7-0.7-desktop
Compiler: gcc

Hej,

have you checked the checkbox in front of the folder name?

Ciao,
Tobias

Checkbox? There is no checkbox. Just

BTW, if I create a new address book in a new folder, create a contact and save it, nothing is displayed, and nothing is in the folder, although kaddressbook mentiones 1 entry....

I'm also experiencing this issue. I'm running an uptodate version of Gentoo with KDE 4.7.2 and Kaddressbook 4.7.2. The issue has been around on my system for at least several versions of KDE. I'm able to import and export Vcard files, but they never appear in the Kaddressbook's interface. If I run akonadiconsole and look at the debug output, I can see the Personal Addressbook data being sent to Kaddressbook, but nothing ever appears. I've also pulled the git source and tried walking through the debug output to see if I could find where the issue is, but when I get to app.exec() in the main.cpp file, it seems to hang and I can't step through.

comment #4 is not a bug...

Settings menu / uncheck "show simple view"
Comment 7 Anders Lund 2012-02-01 17:30:30 UTC
Could you test if this is still a problem in KDE 4.8, and if not close this issue, or ask me to do that?
Comment 8 Mark Gannon 2012-02-02 17:56:29 UTC
Using 4.8.0 (on Gentoo) this behavior no longer occurs. Now when I select simple view, I see one address book entry at a time and buttons appear on the bottom of the window (Previous and Next) allowing me to move forward and backward through the address book.

In my opinion, the problem is resolved with 4.8.0.

Thanks!
