Hi, digikam 1.4.0 is quite old, please try to update to latest version 1.8 or you may also try the just-released 2.0beta2 version, which has many new features and other improvements. If you're unable to update, can you at least post the picture and then also go to Help/Components and copy&paste everything from there right here. Thanks!

Hi. Where can I find the beta in DEB. I'm not so good in ubuntu.. I installed the new wersion which in found http://packages.ubuntu.com/maverick/digikam webpage but it didn't work.
Shotwell recognices all pictures as they should be so it has to be something wrong in digikam.
I really would like to use digikam but if it doesn't work..I have to stay in shotwell.

Comment 5 Jouni Myllylä 2011-02-02 18:47:55 UTC
But it have same problems with the timeline but not that often.
It crashes now and then. I, still have the problem with the "wrong" dates on pictures.
I have now tried to move pictures back and forward between three catalogs so it regornices the right date.
Most of them is solved be that but in some I have to manually change the dates. In those I don't anderstand whyt it has difficulties recognising the date bacause Shotwell regognices all dates OK????.
I really want to use this but it is crashing too many times during the working with pictures.
Is there any limit for the amount of pictures? I have around 23000 pcs.?

There's definitely not a limit. I know of cases with 80 000+ photos and they're working with no problems ;) Something else seems to be broken with your install. Please post the backtrace next time it crashes for you, that would help us to much better understand what's going on there. Thanks!
