I was not able to reproduce this issue with KDE 4.6, could you please write exactly what you were doing.
I.e. something like drop target is or is not enabled, then step 1, 2, 3...
It would be great if you could also try with KDE 4.6 to see if this problem has been fixed.

I tried with 4.4.5 and could not reproduce this. Could you please write exactly what you did?
