Description Thiago Macieira 2011-01-25 18:12:11 UTC
Version: 2.0.89 (using Devel)
OS: Linux

When moving an email from one folder to another, the message list view often jumps around and loses the selection. This makes for quick reading and moving of emails messy, since the Next and Next Unread actions become unpredictable.

I have only tried with the 'm' shortcut (the Move dialog), not with the other two ways of moving emails.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Select a folder with several (at least two) emails
2. Select one of the emails
3. Press 'm', select another folder and click Ok
4. Do not do anything as the email that was selected gets moved and disappears from the current view.

Actual Results:
The selection sometimes disappears, sometimes the previous or next email is selected.

Expected Results:
If there's a next email, it is selected. If the email was the last one in the folder, select the previous.

OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.36.2-server-1mnb
Compiler: gcc

If the selection disappears, Next (Right key) will select the first email in the folder and Previous (Left key) will select the last email, the M key to move will show the dialog, but nothing is moved (selection is empty).

I cannot reliably reproduce this. The conditions to trigger it have still eluded me -- so far it looks random.

I disagree, this is just an UI annoyance.

This bug has only been reported for versions before 4.14, which have been unsupported for at least two years now. Can anyone tell if this bug still present?

If noone confirms this bug for a Framework-based version of kmail2 (version 5.0 or later, as part of KDE Applications 15.12 or later), it gets closed in about three months.

Just as announced in my last comment, I close this bug. If you encounter it again in a recent version (at least 5.0 aka 15.08), please open a new one unless it already exists. Thank you for all your input.
