Screenshot with square

Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.5.5)
OS: Linux

If desktop effects is enabled, I get a transparent square on the desktop since a few versions back of KDE (don't remember exactly when it started - a couple of months ago I think).

Disabling and enabling desktop effects makes it go away until the next boot.

The square is always there for me.

Removing .kde and starting from scratch didn't help either. After a reboot with fresh settings, the square re-appears.

I found it described here also:

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Enable desktop effects.
2. Reboot
3. Log in to your new nice desktop with an ugly square

Actual Results:
An ugly square appears

Expected Results:
No square appears
