Description Erik Johnson 2011-01-20 00:04:22 UTC
Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.5.5)
OS: Linux

I have powerdevil configured to put my laptop to sleep when the laptop lid is closed. It works fine if the screensaver is not active, but if it is active (whether or not it is active because the screen was locked or just due to the system being idle) the laptop does not go to sleep.

I seem to remember there being a bug report for this a while back but I searched and was unable to find it. If it is still active, please merge/close this as a duplicate.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1) Go to System Settings -> Power Management -> Edit Profiles
2) Set "When laptop lid closed" option for current power profile (Powersave, Performance, etc.) to "Suspend to RAM".
3) Click Apply.
4) Engage screensaver by either locking screen or letting system sit idle.
5) Close laptop lid.

Actual Results:
Nothing happens.

Expected Results:
Laptop should suspend to RAM.

This bug has been fixed through a consolekit hack in 4.6 - unfortunately, it is not backportable to 4.5.
