Actually I was changing the fonts in the wrong menu. It should have been 'Settings -> Configure... -> Chat Window -> Colors & Fonts'. The problem goes away when my font is small enough. The problem remains if my font is too large. Tested on Debian GNU/Linux 6.0 (testing) Dear Bug Submitter, This bug has been stagnant for a long time.
