Description Todd 2011-01-13 20:12:29 UTC
Version: 2.5
OS: Linux

Since the dimensions of a particular image are critical for various uses, I think being able to sort the list of images in browse mode by the image dimensions is very important. At the very least this would include sorting by the largest dimension (in pixels) and sorting by the total pixel count (width*height). Sorting by width or height, and perhaps aspect ratio (width/height) would also be good if it didn't make things too complex.

Use-cases:

- looking for images of sufficient resolution for a presentation or poster
- looking for high-resolution photos for a physical photo album
- looking for low-resolution images suitable for easy emailing or posting on the web
- navigating a really massive and poorly-organized folder, where you know the general size range of the picture you want, but not its file name

Reproducible: Always

I can confirm that this feature is still unavailable as of 2.6.4, running on Kubuntu 11.04. This is a VERY important feature for me.

This feature would make locating photos of a certain size criteria much better, please consider implementing it.

Yeah, this would be nice.
