Description Mustafa Muhammad 2011-01-03 19:42:51 UTC
Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.5.90)
OS: Linux

I'd never been able to login to my yahoo account using Kopete because it considers my password wrong (in all its versions) so I always used Pidgin, today I tried changing my password then appending the old one character at a time to find the character that caused the problem and it was "#", once I removed it from the password, I can login normally.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Use a password that contain "#" for a yahoo account

Actual Results:
It said "The password was wrong"

Expected Results:
Log in normally

I'm also experiencing the same issue with Kopete 1.0.80 on KDE 4.6.3 using Kubuntu 11.04 64 bit. I can't remember if I've been able to login before but I know that this problem dates back to KDE 4.0. I hope it gets resolved soon.

Hello from the KDE Bugsquad!

Unfortunately, Yahoo has discontinued the Yahoo Messenger service, and the code has been removed from Kopete.

Thus, I am closing this bug as "UNMAINTAINED" since it will no longer be fixable, or able to operate due to Yahoo.
