Battery notification dialog in 4.8
Power devil notifications 4.9

Description Kai Uwe Broulik 2011-01-02 19:22:38 UTC
Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.5.90)
OS: Linux

I noticed my mobile phone does notify me if the battery is fully charged. I‘d like to have a similar notification on my notebook running KDE. There are notifications when the battery gets low, critical, the power cord is attached or removed but no option to show a notification once the battery is fully charged.

Reproducible: Always

Makes sense, but it will be in 4.7 as it requires new strings.

Patch to enable Battery fully charged notification

Seems not to be in 4.7, so I created little patch that hopefully achieves that :)

Battery notification dialog in 4.8

Are there any news about this? I can confirm that in 4.8 there isn't any notification when the battery is full.

Regards.

Seems BKO is not the best place to put patches to :P I will tweak it a bit and put it on reviewboard, so that it can be in 4.9 then.
Comment 6 Dario Freddi 2012-02-01 17:02:28 UTC
Yea - sorry for skipping that. Please add a new patch to reviewboard to make sure it won't be missed :)
Comment 7 basu123ra 2012-03-06 20:03:28 UTC
How do I add it?

Thanks.

Power devil notifications 4.9

I can confirm that in 4.9 this feature has not be implemented yet.

Regards.

Hello,

I just want to know if this feature will be available in KDE soon.

Best regards.

Oh, I’m sorry, I should have put the patch on Review Board instead of here where they are easily overlooked.
I created a patch for KDE 4.10 - I will have to do testing (ie. is the notification actually triggered when the battery is full - my notebook is at 5% atm so it will take some time to test :P), will put it on reviewboard and then hopefully 4.10 will finally have it :)
Comment 11 Kai Uwe Broulik 2012-10-01 17:47:35 UTC
This notification will finally be available in KDE 4.10 :) I am currently doing a patch that also lets you configure the threshold when this notification appears (on my notebook eg. the battery cannot be charged beyond 98%)

Kai Uwe Broulik commited changes into kde-workspace master:
Mon, 01 Oct 2012 17:27:42
Overhaul PowerDevil's notifications

- Removed "The screen is being locked" notification
- Cleaned up the notifyrc (half of the notifications was no longer used)
- Fixed notification icons' size being hardcoded to 20x20px
- Now using more specific icons for notifications rather than generic dialog-warning
- Added notification titles rather than generic "KDE PM" title string
- Added notification for "battery charge complete"

Hello,

I don't know if it's necessary activate something because this new feature doesn't work for me in 4.10. In my laptop when the battery arrives to 100% nothing happens.

Does anyone have the same issue?
