Description Frederik Schwarzer 2011-01-01 21:05:21 UTC
Version: 2.0.89 (using KDE 4.5.90)
OS: Linux

I have a gmail account over imap which I set to update (check for mail) every 60 minutes. However, new mails are shown as they arrive on the server.

Reproducible: Always

OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.36-fs
Compiler: gcc

For me it's invalid. For inbox it's "idle" feature.

Please consider reopening this bug.

When someone enables interval mail checking in their account settings, they are often doing so because they don't want to be bothered by new mail notifications too often. (Note the operative term here is "too often" -- the interval timer provided in the account settings dialog is their way of decided how often they *do* want to be bothered.) If KMail ignores this setting for some folders in favour of the IDLE feature, then this is only going to confuse and irritate users who were expecting a reprieve from the new mail notifications.
