Those are valid MIME types by Freedesktop shared-mime-info (/usr/share/mime/packages/freedesktop.org.xml). K3B knows how to handle them... so it's pretty clear they must be added (MimeType desktop entry is just to inform you are able to handle it, no default app or anything is supposed).
