Description oncelacar 2010-12-30 19:11:36 UTC
Version: 1.1 (using KDE 4.4.5)
OS: Linux

If you have the birthdays and anniversaries calendar activated, that is, if there are calendar items from your contacts' birthdays or anniversaries on your calendar, in the summary view of Kontact, you see duplicate records belonging to these special dates: one under the upcoming events, another under upcoming special dates. When you go to Settings --> Configure Summary Vew --> Approaching Events, there are two tick mark fields that you can select or clear, to display these special dates or not. However, clearing them does not work the way it's expected - duplicate records of special dates still show up under upcoming events.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Have a list of contacts ready with some registered birthdays or anniversaries soon from the current date (within the duration shown in the summary view of your Kontact)

2. Add birthdays and anniversaries to your calendar

3. Configure your summary view to show both upcoming events and upcoming special dates

4. Configure the upcoming evetns section to NOT show the birthdays nor the anniversaries

Actual Results:
Summary view records for the special dates do not disappear from the upcoming events list.

Expected Results:
When the aforementioned two tick marks are cleared, the special dates should disappear from the upcoming events list, and be shown only in the upcoming special dates list.

OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.31.13-131
Compiler: i686-pc-linux-gnu-gcc

This bug has only been reported for versions before 4.14, which have been unsupported for at least two years now. Can anyone tell if this bug still present?

If noone confirms this bug for a Framework-based version of kontact (version 5.0 or later, as part of KDE Applications 15.08 or later), it gets closed in about three months.

Just as announced in my last comment, I close this bug. If you encounter it again in a recent version (at least 5.0 aka 15.08), please open a new one unless it already exists. Thank you for all your input.
