Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.5.90)
OS: Linux

I'm using KMail 4.6 beta 3. I appreciate that KMail displays messages as a thread, or what is also called a conversational view. However, by default it displays the threads as collapsed instead of expanded, only the first message is visible and the rest can only be shown by clicking the expander to the left of the message.

I think it would be better if threads were expanded by default, so that I can see all my messages. There was a moment when I thought that I had lost some message, only to discover that they were in fact hidden in a collapsed thread.

Reproducible: Always

I am using KMail 5.11.2 on KDE Neon 5.16 and when I display a folder (such as my inbox) all threads are shown expanded by default. I am marking as WORKSFORME.
