Description Kai Uwe Broulik 2010-12-29 23:20:50 UTC
Version: SVN (using KDE 4.5.90)
OS: Linux

When someone wants to add you to the ICQ list, the progress is really badly designed. You are asked to Add him/her, Accept or Decline the authorization request. When adding the contact, he is added to the contact list but he does not see you accepted (which you actually didn‘t). When accepting the authorization request, the contact is not added to the list which causes trouble as well.
Don‘t distinguish between Accept and Add. Nobody would ever want to accept a person without adding him/her to the contact list. This doesn‘t make any sense at all.
Also when adding the person, he/she is first displayed with the ICQ number at the top of the list and shortly after re-ordered because then the name was fetched. It was really nice having a notification saying “Contact 123-456-789 (Joe something) is now in your contact list.”
But it is really important removing this distinction between Adding and Accepting in order to make ICQ work more smoothly. Remove the Accept (or Add) button and make it do both in one progress.

Reproducible: Always

Dear user, unfortunately Kopete is no longer maintained.

Please migrate to another solution, e.g. for Jabber a possibility is Kaidan, for Matrix a candidate is NeoChat.
