K3b stops burning at ~ 50% with the error "mkisofs crashed".

DVD writer - NEC ND-3540A
DVD disk - ACME DVD+R 2 layers, 2.4x
Burn options: default

According to http://support.necam.com/optical/ND3540A_specs.asp this DVD writer supports DL disks.
