Version: 1.4.80 (using KDE 4.5.90)
OS: Linux

Hi, I try KDE4.6 since beta 1 and after update from beta 2 to rc1 akonadi shows me this error: The protocol version of the Akonadi server is incompatible. Make sure you have a compatible version installed.
And says it expected at least version 28 and that I have version 27 installed.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Start computer, login

Actual Results:
Akonadi crashes with this error

Expected Results:
Akonadi not crashes

Feel free to ask me please, I do not know what other info I should place here.

Confirmed here, Kubuntu x64 10.10.
Comment 2 Pratik Patel 2010-12-26 23:22:31 UTC
I confirm this bug on Ubuntu x86 10.10 with KDE 4.6 RC 1 installed.

@Tom Kijas: What distribution are using when you get the error?
Comment 3 Robby Engelmann 2010-12-28 13:11:30 UTC
It seems to be a problem specific for Kubuntu. You can install akonadi-server and libakonadiprotocolinternals1 from natty as a temporary workaround
Comment 4 Rufus Dee 2010-12-28 14:15:31 UTC
No, it's not. Confirmed here on Arch linux using binary packages.
Comment 5 Torgny Nyblom 2010-12-28 15:22:16 UTC
Either way this is a packaging error in the distributions.

Please file bugs to them and ask them to ship the latest akonadi server version.
