Description James Dent 2010-12-21 08:26:02 UTC
Version: 1.6.5 (using KDE 4.5.4)
OS: Linux

When web pages with an embedded(?) RSS feed are viewed in Akregator's embedded browser, an RSS icon is displayed in the status bar. However, this icon remains even after the page is closed, and if many such pages are viewed, many of these icons accumulate, and will not disappear until Akregator is restarted.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open a site such as planetkde.org in the embedded browser (e.g. by following the link for the Planet KDE feed homepage.)
2. Once the page loads, an RSS icon is added to the status bar.
3. Close the page. The RSS icon remains in the status bar.

Actual Results:
The RSS icon is removed from the status bar when the web page it is associated with is closed.

Expected Results:
The RSS icon remains in the status bar until Akregator is closed.

OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.36-ARCH
Compiler: gcc

I've never seen such a behaviour (despite using akregator a *lot*)

Does it happen with any widget style ? (in systemsettings/application appearance)
Comment 3 James Dent 2010-12-21 11:28:53 UTC
Yep, it happens regardless of the widget style.
Comment 4 Christophe Marin 2010-12-31 14:56:54 UTC
mmh ... looks like it happens when webkit replaces khtml for the page rendering.
Comment 5 Jonathan Marten 2012-11-06 13:26:50 UTC
Does not appear to be a problem with current trunk, with Konqueror's default engine set to WebKit. The RSS icon is removed when the page tab which added it is closed.
Comment 6 Christophe Marin 2012-11-07 14:19:53 UTC
Indeed. The rss icon disappear when the tabs are closed.
