Kaffeine is registered as the application to display MNG images but it does not display them correctly at all (unlike Gwenview).

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
  1. Open the attached image ABCD.

Actual Results:  
  1. A flash of B over A.

Expected Results:  
  1. A B C D

OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.34.7-0.5-desktop

This bug is too old, for a version < 1.3. Closing it, as the latest version is 2.0.1, and lots of things changed since version 1.2.x, including the usage of VLC as video display backend, support for DVB-T2 and ISDB-T via libVLC, etc.

You may check on the upstream version and see if the bug was solved. The README file contains instructions about how to compile it. You can find it at our git repository:

No MNG display any more.  I get the following error message:
[png @ 0x7feff8066ae0] IHDR after IDAT
libpng error: Not a PNG file
[00007feff8065700] main es %s error: buffer deadlock prevented
