This is a Words bug, not a common. Current problem is that Words regenerate the table of content after the layout is finished. If there is not proper content (headings, etc.), the table of content cannot be generated as the information is missing. You can see it when you open the attached document in OpenOffice and update the table of content. The index entries are gone. The ToC is indeed always generated to reflect the actual document. This is maybe different from what other apps do but it's not a bug. Ok, then this bug report is not valid. If the document does not have proper content for the generator (in generator we iterate the headings and update the toc according them), the toc will be empty. The attached document does not have correct content needed to generate the table of content. *** Bug 247749 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** Created attachment 60601 [details]

Tested in 09bf66c4b404f9fb8d3c2912ea77d02646e38f0a, TOC is displaying fine except the alignment of the page numbers,(page numbers should be displayed at the tight side of the page, but here page numbers are displaying in the middle of the page).

Test data with same issue
Similar issue is observed with the Doc and Docx files also,so attaching the test data.
I and sebsauer we cannot reproduce the problems with TOC. There is problem with first extra page in mw03_toc.doc, but that is different bug then displaying toc properly. I suppose the problem might be in Qt. We tested Qt 4.7.2 and 4.7.1, Swathi tested with Qt 4.7.0 Verified in 5f6f9401b53343b140d2bae8587ec3a01f103fe1. |
