konsole output when starting vlc from the konsole

Version: 1.6.3 (using KDE 4.5.3)
OS: Linux

This is one of those errors that only occurs on some machines...

The common factors are Fedora 13, Libtag 1.6.3, vlc 1.06 or 1.1.4 or 1.1.5. Both rpmfusion and vlc developers are of the same opionion, that is libtag is performing an illegal operation.

See: http://trac.videolan.org/vlc/ticket/3701
and: https://bugzilla.rpmfusion.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1212

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
On a fedora machine start vlc from the konsole or desktop.menu.entry

Actual Results:
vlc fails to start.

Using valgraind vlc will stop but is very, very, slow.

Expected Results:
vlc gui should open

I have tried rebuilding libtag serveral times with either cmake or cmake-kde and different patchs for multilib and utf8 support
