please try to set the scale method to "smooth" instead of "accurate" Thanks, with scale method "smooth" there are no problems, everything works as expected. Do you use some sort of window translucency (ARGB support in Bespin/QtCurve/Oxygen or fixed window opacity < 100%) or are the invisible windows supposed to be "just default opaque windows" I use the default settings and didn't change the window opacity option. And every window gets invisible after the movement. what about thumbnails in the tooltips? The thumbnails are only white with accurate, while with smooth there is a picture shown. Also for Desktop Grid something simmilar is happening, with accurate the whole window (expect the + and - at the bottom) gets black, while with smooth everything works. Everything seems to work. this is most likely #258439 - if you compile yourself you can test one of the patches attached there, but it may also be that shader support in your driver is just _really_ broken :-( Its not fixed. It looks now different thow.. The windows are not any longer black at the end of the movement, they are now gray and the active one is invisible. Are there other ways to test the shader support? It seems that also the Blur effect cannot be entabled.. =( I think lanczos & blur are currently the only effects supporting ARB shader - everthing else would use glsl (apparently not supported by the driver) or no shaders at all. I fear you'll have to wait for a driver update, sorry :-( If XRender is ok for you and you want some sort of blurring, have a look here: http://kde-apps.org/content/show.php/BeDistorted?content=126906 It seems that the driver is the newest version (6.13.1). If also others have the same problem, it might be a good idea to default the scale method to "smooth" on the free radeon driver. Thanks for your help and work on kwin. altogether, it's a driver bug :-( Please note that you're using an outdated version of Mesa. The current release is 7.10. The R600 driver was in an early stage of development in Mesa 7.7, and this problem should not be reproducible in more recent versions. xf86-video-ati which you were referring to is the 2D driver. |
