Description Martux 2010-12-14 22:03:45 UTC
Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.5.4)
OS: Linux

I have set up Kopete to open new messages in a new tab in the same window.
What sometimes happens is, that during typing, a new tab opens and I fire up the message to the wrong recipent.
Extremely unpleasant.
I did not find a way to tell Kopete to just open new messages from contacts others that I am chatting with right now, in a *background* tab.
Is it possible? I tried every combination with the queues or without, nothing seems to create that behavior.
Even opening new messages in a new window steals away the focus to the new window, so messages will be send unwanted to the wrong recipent eventually.

Reproducible: Didn't try

Steps to Reproduce:
1. chat
2. other contact than active is writing something while yourself is typing

Actual Results:
Message will get to wrong recipent.

Expected Results:
Focus is not stolen on incoming messages, maybe tab is blinking or some sound is played instead.

Dear user, unfortunately Kopete is no longer maintained.

Please migrate to another solution, e.g. for Jabber a possibility is Kaidan, for Matrix a candidate is NeoChat.
