Okular NOT showing mathematic symbols (+, =, -, etc.)

Version:           0.11.2 (using KDE 4.5.4)
OS:                Linux

Okular is not able to show some mathematical symbols in this PDF:
http://dx.doi.org/10.1002/(SICI)1098-2760(199711)16:4%3C249::AID-MOP15%3E3.0.CO;2-0
(I can provide the pdf for testing).

I suspect the problem might be in underlaying libraries since Mendeley Desktop (http://www.mendeley.com/) shows the same problem.

Foxit reader 1.1.0 and Acrobat Reader 9.4, on the other hand, can show them just fine.

I'll be attaching some screenshots.

Reproducible: Always

Okular does not open and render PDF documents on its own, but uses the Poppler library to do that.
Please report the issue to the Poppler's bug tracking system at https://bugs.freedesktop.org, "poppler" product. Also, make sure to specify the version of your poppler library and to attach a document showing the issue.
