That's correct - if you did not have your battery plugged in, only the performance profile is generated. Regarding the battery applet - I suppose you're running beta 1? If you do, please close this bug as fixed as this issue has already been fixed in trunk. P.S.: In Beta2 or RC1+ there will be the possibility of regenerating default profiles from the UI.
