- Which distribution method are you using (for KDE SC 4.6 beta1) ?
  - Did you use a LiveCD with 4.6beta1?
  - Did you updated to the beta packages of your distribution ?
  - Did you manually compiled and installed it in your system ?
- Does this error appear when you first installed 4.6 beta1 ?
  - If that's true, can you revert and check if ksmserver starts properly ?
- Do you get any other error message ? Can you provide other message logs ?

ditribution method? openSUSE 11.3 x86_64, updated from KDF!, appeared after KDF update
would need a command to revert; pity the file I saved was not sent; no compilation

Test it on a clean installation and if you still experience the error please post the error logs and other kind of information
