Sentry Crash Report:

Description Clemens Kolbitsch 2010-12-02 12:58:59 UTC
Version: 1.13.5 (using KDE 4.5.1)
OS: Linux

Not sure if a missing feature or a bug, but definitely annoying: I often want to write an email to multiple people with an attachment (containing sensitive data). Thus, I'll send an unencrypted email to all recipients with unsensitive information (e.g. because I don't have the key of some recipients) and encrypt only the attachment.

The GUI supports this by clicking the encrypt-checkbox on the attachment, but not on the email. Kmail ignores this and simply encrypts the complete message.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Send an email with attachment, click on "encrypt attachment check box", do NOT click on "encrypt email button"

Actual Results:
Complete message is encrypted (including attachment)

Expected Results:
Email is send without encryption, attachment is encrypted

Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report.

KMail2 was released in 2011, and the entire code base went through significant changes. We are currently in the process of porting to Qt5 and KF5. It is unlikely that these bugs are still valid in KMail2.

We welcome you to try out KMail 2 with the KDE 4.14 release and give your feedback.
