Hi,
   Sometimes PDFs contain characters which are a combination of two characters. 
e.g. fi for fi, ffi for ffi, ff for ff, fl for fl, ffl for ffl .
(There may be more.)
   It would be nice of okular searched for both of these possibilities.  For example, if I searched for "flight" okular would find "flight" and "flight"

These characters are called "ligatures".
