- select a piece of text in kwrite
- change to another window (ALT-TAB or click on other window)
- go back to kwrite window
-> The selected text disappeared

selection remains unchanged, text will not be deleted.

Are you using the ibus input method? If so, it's definitely a duplicate of #248558.

Yes you are right. I used ibus and switching off ibus solved the problem.
