you should consider this problem CONFIRMED now: i can confirm similar behaviour with plasma getting up to 500+X MB total and at least 400 MB resident - i definitely feel it all the time since the machine its running on has only some 1 GB of memory. the base system is openSUSE 11.1 with the most recent updates. the used machine is i686 - using a single cpu, single core + HT. a quite similar report can be found there: http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?t=251176 just came to the idea adding the version information of my machine: #> plasma --version Qt: 4.4.3 KDE: 4.1.3 (KDE 4.1.3) "release 4.11.1" Plasma Workspace: 0.1-SUSE Here I have quad core + 8GB of memory. I never close my computer. I'm on linux gentoo 64Bits. Qt: 4.7.1 KDE Development Platform: 4.5.3 (KDE 4.5.3) Plasma Workspace: 0.3 Plasma can use 5GB after long time. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 248268 *** |
