I have the same problem after upgrade to maverick , with kde 4.5.1. In kubuntu lucid, with kde 4.5.3 I didn't had that problem. My system setting dont open windown to login as root to change login screen. I'm having the same problem under Kubuntu 11.10 with KDE 4.7.2. Every other reboot my font settings are being reset. Sometimes my font settings survive a reboot, sometimes they don't. This is utterly annoying. File permissions on ~/.fonts.conf are fine, btw. I'm also having this issue in Kubuntu 11.10 with KDE 4.7.2. ~/.fonts and ~/.fonts.conf permissions look fine, but after every reboot I get my font settings reset back to the Ubuntu font. I have the same issue on Kubuntu 12.04 and KDE 4.8.3. Not every time but occasionally after reboot fonts are reset to defaults. There is workaround but still the issue is very old and deserves a fix http://www.kubuntuforums.net/showthread.php?56517-workaround-font-size-keeps-resetting In Kubuntu 12.04, I find that the fonts reset fairly regularly, but not every boot. So it's as mentioned by others here. Kubuntu 12.10 beta 1 Kde 4.9.1 I have checked the mentioned bug by 1. changing the font in the font settings dialog from oxygen to droid sans 2. Changed the wallpaper 3. restarted the system 4. Checked the font in the font settings dialog, the droid sans font remains set. Hence I can confirm that this problem is not in kubuntu 12.10 beta 1 with kde 4.9.1 This was a (K)Ubuntu specific bug, which is apparently fixed in 12.10 (see comment #7). |
