Version: unspecified (using Devel)
OS: Linux

Volume slider doesn't corresponds to kmix's volume slider.

Changes on amarok's slider won't change plasma ( kmix ) 's volume size.

(Sorry for posting it here , it should be amarok , but for most of the time , if i post it in the *right* place , no one replies at all , this is an easy , simple bug could be fixed , i think)

KDELIBS 4.5.3

Reproducible: Always

Which exact Amarok version is that? Also, which Phonon backend do you use?
Comment 2 Aaron Lewis 2010-11-08 05:38:01 UTC
Amarok 2.3.2 , Phonon:

kde-base/phonon-kde-4.5.3
media-sound/phonon-4.4.2

Amarok uses Phonon for sound output. And it is absolutely normal that you can tune also the volume in Amarok, it is completely independent from the KMix volume slider. This allows you to mute Amarok without having to change anything in KMix.

The usual setting is to put the absolute system volume in KMix, then use the volume slider in Amarok to only change the Amarok volume. You can mute the system or set the system sound lower in Kmix which has an effect on all the system, including Amarok, but the volume slider in Amarok only changes the volume in the application. This is a feature, not a bug.
