I have the same problem with opensuse 11.3 KDE 4.6 RC2
I have this bug since 4.6.0 (OpenSuse). I had to disable application notifications in the taskbar-widget, so that only one is shown. Some notifications - like download progress - are actually *behind* the taskbar. Just shining through the semi-transparent background. I have deleted my KDE configuration and created an new one. The problem was gone after this step. In my case it helped to remove an applet with plugin "org.kde.notifications" from ~/kde4/share/config/plasma-desktop-appletsrc file. You have to re-add it then to the panel. |
