I think your backtrace is uncomplete. It said that crash is there : http://lxr.kde.org/source/extragear/graphics/digikam/utilities/setup/setup.cpp#388 But, the trace must continue in another place. Do you have installed digikam debug package ? Can you try with 1.5.0 release ?
