Description Todd 2010-10-19 21:20:44 UTC
Version: 2.2 (using KDE 4.5.2)
OS: Linux

The document panel, the list of slides in kpresenter, currently uses up and down buttons for moving slides and right-click for copying and pasting with no clear picture where the slide will end up. Drag and drop is not supported.

I think at the very least drag-and-drop is need for reordering slides in this panel. Pretty much nobody moves stuff around with up and down buttons anymore, drag-and-drop is the standard.

However, a lot of KDE applications, like dolphin and digikam, have a nice feature where if you drag and drop something, it pops up a menu with a list of actions you can take. I think this would be ideal for this panel as well.

So when you drop some slides, a menu would pop up asking you if you want to move, copy, or (if this feature is implemented) link the slides to that location. The normal keyboard shortcuts, such as ctrl+drag to copy or shift+drag to move, would also work.

Reproducible: Always

D&D works in the slide list now, including the popup.
