Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.5.1)
OS: Linux

the color of the text indicator should be customizable somewhere in theme setup.
currently it is hardcoded to black.

when system tay is set to dark (i.e in Oxygen theme),
keyboard layout displayed with black text on black background.

the same issue may appear in some other widgets that use text,
because there's no option to set up panel or widgets "foreground"

Reproducible: Always

I've committed a fix for KDE 4.5.3 that uses the Theme color when the applet is in the panel. Sadly I cannot fix this for the applet in the systray. The country name is a pixmap there - and this pixmap is black.

I don't think setting the color would be that useful but using the correct foreground based on current theme is definitely good and this has been taken care of in bug 266434
