kmail will crash if you use it with gmail imap
you can add a function to imap to only download and keep the email that you have clicked its link so you dont have to use disconected imap and download all emails
it is useful when people like me have slow internet connections
and they dont need too download everything

This is implemented in KMail 2, in the imap folder properties / retrieval / "Retrieve message bodies on demand"
