Please try again with newer digiKam version, 1.5.0 is just out. Try to reproduce it there and report back. Thanks. Ask you can see in my screenshot, lens cannot be found because there is no lens info avaialble in your image metadata. About focal lenght = 300 mm, it come from metadata. So, it's a problem with your camera. Gilles Caulier i knew about the focal i don't know how to force actual focal to be written in the metadata (i have a clue with an option in the camera, i'm on it).
