Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.5.1)
OS: Linux

I'd like to always show the Rating (star) filter in "browse" mode, instead of having to click "add filter" and then click "rating" and then finally click on a star.

One UI possibility would be if we could tick off something like "always show this filter", and then it would be persistent until next time I start Gwenview (of course the number of stars selected should _not_ be persistent, that could lead to some confusing situations where a user thinks half her files are gone)

Reproducible: Always

There seems to be a lot of free screen estate at the bottom bar that has the "Add filter" button -- could filters start out there?

Note: in my particular case, what I want is to always show the "x stars or more" filter, like what Digikam does. However, an option to always show a certain filter type seems like a more general solution.

I would like filters to persist between sessions, or the ability to add a default filter that applies at start up.
