dvd+rw-mediainfo output
(In reply to comment #2) > Created an attachment (id=52163) [details] > dvd+rw-mediainfo output forgot to say: this is the output after burning the media with growisofs I had the same problem, two different DVD-RWs from Verbatim (4x and 6x), one not working (Restricted Overwrite mode) and the other working (Sequential mode). Try to format the DVR-RW in sequential mode with dvd+rw-format -blank /dev/dvd then k3b should work now (k3b is using cdrecord 3.0). BTW, Fedora uses growisofs for DVDs and BluRays by default: https://admin.fedoraproject.org/pkgdb/builds/show/F-14-x86_64-u/k3b/1/2.0.2/4.fc14/x86_64?_csrf_token=8ff404fc644a9ae2603a8d5836986c962e7819d4 I think this commit fixes the problem (haven't tested, but the patch is in Fedora, and I have no such problem with burning in Fedora): https://projects.kde.org/projects/extragear/multimedia/k3b/repository/revisions/1853eee0f15d9d5a1ab0407d5d87e36167e5c9eb Dear Bug Submitter, This bug has been stagnant for a long time. Could you help us out and re-test if the bug is valid in the latest version? I am setting the status to NEEDSINFO pending your response, please change the Status back to REPORTED when you respond. Thank you for helping us make KDE software even better for everyone! Dear Bug Submitter, This is a reminder that this bug has been stagnant for a long time. Could you help us out and re-test if the bug is valid in the latest version? This bug will be moved back to REPORTED Status for manual review later, which may take a while. If you are able to, please lend us a hand. Thank you for helping us make KDE software even better for everyone! Created attachment 52161 [details] K3B failure output log Version: 2.0.1 (using KDE 4.5.1) OS: Linux K3B doesn't burn Fedora iso (to be precise Fedora-14-Beta-i686-Live-KDE.iso) on a rewritable DVD-RW Verbatim media. I tried all the possibile combinations of: - formatting the media (fast and complete blanking); - burning mode (DAO, etc); - burning speed (2.4x, 4x); - data mode (MODE1 or MODE2). I didn't ever suceeded. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1) get Fedora iso; 2) get a similar media. I think the media is actually the problem. Actual Results: The burning fails with the attached output. Expected Results: Burning succeedes as growisofs burning. OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.35-ARCH Compiler: gcc
