I Amarok able to show metadata (such as artist or length) of such .mka files? *** Bug 317316 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** Still waiting for feedback... (In reply to comment #3) > Still waiting for feedback... I did not use amarok for about 3 years because it's performance on internet filesystem mounts is terrible (10 Minutes starting time because auf playlist/filesystem scanning). But as the mka files could not be dragged into the playlist window at that time, Amarok was not able to show metadata either or do anything else with these files; what cannot be seen cannot be used, obviously. I cannot say how mka files are handled today, as three years is a long time, but you can easily try it out yourself (use mkvtoolnix from http://www.bunkus.org/videotools/mkvtoolnix/ to convert one mp3 to mka, try to open and play it with Amarok). If they work like all other audiofiles, this bug can be closed. Thank you for the feedback. Tested on 2.9.71. They are not recognized as supported by Amarok since TagLib does not support .mka files; a wishlist item on TagLib issue tracker is available at https://github.com/taglib/taglib/issues/387 . As no tags can be read, they cannot be included in collection either. One can drag them to playlist and play them, though. Should TagLib receive .mka support one day, implementing support in Amarok would be relatively straightforward. Without that, will not be supported. |
